Reel Deal Anglers guides over 200 miles of trout water across Western Wyoming, from the heart of Jackson Hole to the Wind River Range and south through Star Valley to the Fontenelle Dam. Every river fishes differently. Some are forgiving drifts for first-time fly anglers. Some are technical spring creeks for experts. Some are private-water trips with limited access and limited dates.
Below are the nine rivers we guide, with what makes each one different. If you are not sure which one fits your trip, call Rhett at (307) 413-0669 or send us a note. We will match you to the right water for your group, your experience level, and the week you are coming.
The heart of Jackson Hole. Native Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat on drift-boat water that runs through Grand Teton country. Season: March through October.
A classic Western freestone below the Wind River Range near Pinedale. Wild rainbows, browns, and cutthroat. Legendary Golden Stone and Grey Drake hatches. Private access ramp. Season: late June through October.
Technical dry fly water near Pinedale with trophy browns holding tight to undercut banks. The river our repeat clients ask for after they have caught fish on the Snake. Season: July through October.
Spring-fed meadow water through Star Valley, which locals call “Little Switzerland.” Wild browns and native cutthroat in the same runs. Less pressure than the Snake. Season: July through October.
A true spring creek inside the National Elk Refuge. Technical sight-fishing to wild cutthroat on small flies. Not a beginner’s river. Season: August 1 through October..
Private walk-and-wade access on two miles of Crystal Creek at the second-oldest homestead in Wyoming. Featured on ESPN’s Fly Fishing America. Season: Saturdays in July and August, seven days a week in September and October.
Cold tailwater releases from Fontenelle Dam mean consistent fishing from early spring through late fall. Trophy browns and rainbows with fewer boats than the Montana tailwaters. Season: March through November.
The lesser-known Wyoming section of one of the most productive trout tailwaters in the West. Red rock canyon scenery, hot springs, and 5,000+ trout per mile. Season: July through October.
High-mountain creeks and alpine lakes in the Wind River Range, Wyoming Range, and Gros Ventre drainage. Walk-and-wade day trips from $795, or our exclusive helicopter-access trip from $8,500. Season: July through October.
