Red Rock Ranch is the kind of water most anglers only see in magazines. Two private miles of Crystal Creek, the second-oldest homestead in Wyoming, and sight-fishing to big Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat in water so clear you watch the take before you feel it. It is the trip our repeat clients come back for, and one of the only private fisheries we guide in Jackson Hole.
Crystal Creek is a tributary of the Gros Ventre, tumbling out of the mountains through red rock canyon country northeast of Jackson. On the ranch itself, the creek slows into a series of meadow runs, plunge pools, and undercut banks that hold cutthroat up to 22 inches. The water was featured on ESPN’s Fly Fishing America, and it fishes like the kind of place that would be.
