Season: July – October
Guided Fly Fishing Trips on Flat Creek
in Jackson Hole
Flat Creek is a true spring creek that winds quietly through the National Elk Refuge just north of the town of Jackson. Clear, cold, slow water, weeds and willows along the banks, and native Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat that have seen every fly in the box. It is one of the most technical and rewarding dry-fly fisheries in the American West, and the closest thing to a Pennsylvania or Montana spring creek experience you will find in Jackson Hole.
We run guided walk-and-wade trips on Flat Creek during the limited season the refuge is open, which runs August 1 through the end of October by federal regulation. This is not a beginner’s river. It is a river for anglers who want to cast small dries to big, selective fish in gin-clear water, and who understand that a day here might mean three fish earned rather than thirty easy ones.

Why Fishing Flat Creek Is Different
Where You’ll Fish
Flat Creek flows through the National Elk Refuge immediately north of Jackson. We access the creek at designated points permitted under our US Fish and Wildlife commercial use authorization. Your guide will pick the access and stretch based on flows, the previous week's pressure, and where the fish are holding that day.
