Frequently Asked Questions

Do we supply lunch?

We do not. You’re welcome to bring anything that you like; both beverages and food/snacks. We have ice and water in our coolers. We’ve found that folks enjoy eating their own choices for lunches.

We guide in and around the Jackson Hole area, Pinedale/Big Piney/LaBarge on the Green and New Fork Rivers, Fontenelle Dam and tailwater, Alpine Wy on the Salt River. We will meet you in each area near the chosen river. We don’t have a brick and mortar due to the high cost of the real estate.

Half day requires a licenses only, which is an additional $14 per person and can be bought online. Full days you’ll need to bring your own food and beverages, other than water and a day license. We supply all the gear necessary for the trips. If you want to use spin gear you’ll be charged for the lures.

We’re NOT clockwatchers and are flexible. The half days are typically 4-5 hours and the Full day experience is typically 7-8 hours. PLEASE note that the full day cost is ONLY an additional $100 more than the half day, which is $50 per person. You can’t even eat and Mc Donalds in Jackson for that price! AND you’re NOT required to stay out the entire time. Most folks choose to fish 6-7 hours and then sit back and enjoy the scenery and perhaps even an adult beverage.

YES, of course!! None of us were born with fly rods in our hands. We love to share our passion.

Can I get a license online?

We NEVER takes people out if/when the weather is forecasted to be dangerous. PLEASE NOTE that you’re in a mountain environment and storms can pop up and if that’s the case we will seek out shelter or head off the water. If the weather forecast is not safe prior to the days trip we can try to re-schedule.

In the summer season we like to meet around 7am! Spring and Fall typically around 8-830am. Early bird gets the worm!!! AND usually avoids the crowds.

On the Snake and Salt Rivers we try to get on the water before the other guide boats, which is a huge advantage. On the Green and New Fork Rivers we also like to get out on the water earlier than the other guide boats too. AND we have permits and access to “special” sections of water that are not nearly as pressured as some of the other areas. We are also willing to drive further to get away from the known areas that are busier.
