The Summer Fishing Season for 2018 is Shaping up to be Fantastic!
4.4.2018
The snowpack in the high country is currently sitting at 125% of a 30 year average, which means the summer fishing season for 2018 is shaping up to be fantastic! If you look at the top map it shows 10″-20″ forecasted for the Wind River Range, which is where the headwaters for the Green and New Fork come from and the Tetons, Gros Ventres and Absarokas, where the Snake comes from are forecasted to get 4″-10″. The bottom one shows the overall basin average.
The Snake River system is currently at 84% of capacity and runoff hasn’t even started yet.
What does this all mean? Well, its way too early to know for sure when and how the runoff will play out, but we do know that we’ll have water, thankfully!
