Wyoming Fishing and Runoff Update

The latest Wyoming fishing and runoff update so far this spring has been consistent with the wild temperature and moisture swings that we’ve been experiencing now for quite some time. All I know if you look at the charts you can see for yourself. I’m no hydrologist or meteorologist, but I can tell you that the weather patterns are definitely hitting the extremes; both lows and highs. We lost about 10% of the snowpack in the past several days, which is way too fast, but that’s the cards we’re dealing with so far. That being known/said, the one week forecast is for a lot of moisture and cooler temps, so that should slow things down for a bit.

The Upper Snake looks great for the time being, with both flows and storage considered. We will see what the runoff brings and how the Bureau of Reclamation operates the Jackson Dam. the Bureau of Rec typically has a meeting in Jackson towards the end of May to discuss their operational plan.
