The Spring Fishing in Wyoming is gearing up to be nothing short of spectacular! The spring hatch on the Snake that we’re all waiting for is the skwalla; this is an amazing hatch that consistently produces an abundance of large, healthy cutties eating big dries all afternoon long. A lot of people give the Snake a bad rap for small fish but this is a fallacy because the larger fish are around and willing to participate when the flows are reasonable.
We will be guiding below Fontenelle Reservoir on the Green River all spring as well and if the snow melts enough on the Green between Pinedale and Fontenelle then we might get lucky on the salmon flies, hopefully! The 7 mile float below the reservoir can produce some amazing results. We’re anticipating some unbelievable BWO hatches as the weather warms up. Stay tuned to our fishing reports as the action and weather warms up!
Happy Spring!
